About
Choosing the right people for solving your IT problems can be difficult, especially when you don’t know anything about them. So we’ve decided to tell you a little about each of us, where we’re from, what we’ve been doing in the IT industry, so you can have a better idea of our experience and put your trust in our team.
NOTE: We each wrote our own profiles, so take them with a grain of salt ;-)
Brad Cochran
Brad grew up in Concord, Michigan, attended Jackson Community College after high school, and eventually settled in Hillsdale.
After following several career paths, he discovered his interest in computer technology after buying his family’s first computer-USED! Every free minute after work and family was devoted to teaching himself about computers, and, most importantly, how to fix his own. When given the opportunity to join a local computer store as Office Manager, Brad made a personal commitment to treat each customer like he would want to be treated.
Now having joined Josh and Jon at SabreTech, Brad brings to the table his strong management skills. He is happy to be working with two colleagues who, like himself, share a strong work ethic and that same personal commitment to identify with the consumer.
Jonathan Hoyt
Jon spent most of his life in Hillsdale Michigan, homeschooling from grade school through highschool, and then attending and graduating from Hillsdale College.
While homeschooling, at the young age of 9, Jon got started in computing. The first to enter a computer in the 4H at the Hillsdale County Fair and the youngest IT Entrepreneur in Hillsdale County since 1996.
While still in highschool Jon started Legend Computer Services and kept that business for almost 10 years, finally merging with Sabretech Consulting LLC during the summer of 2005. Jon has seen computers progress from the days of 8088’s running at 8mhz and 10mb harddrives the size of a loaf of bread, to todays technology with processors running two cores at several gigahertz and 300gb harddrives smaller than a deck of cards.
Jon has enjoyed helping in his community, donating time to Hospice of Hillsdale County whenever they need IT help. “I really love Hillsdale, wonderful people working hard to make a living.”
Update!! Jon is expanding SabreTech down into Indiana. Jon and his wife, Natalie, now live in Elkhart. Jon is fixing computers all over Indiana now, mostly in Elkhart and St. Joseph counties.
When a client expressed concern about losing their favorite IT guy, Jon said, “I plan to be in Hillsdale a couple days a week for the first few months while everyone gets to know Sam, my replacement. Don’t worry, you’ll love Sam, he’s smarter AND better looking than me!”
To which they replied, “well that’s not saying much…”
Dan Parker
Always ahead of the class in schoolwork, Dan used most of his extra time learning programming and turning over every leaf in the computer world. He started programming with Josh Potter in 2005, soon after Josh founded Sabretech. He moved on to be IT Director of a mid-sized manufacturing company for one productive year. A lot of improvements to the company’s IT and several pennies later, he skipped off to college: Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. Chicago was great, but the pennies ran dry after a year and a half and he came back looking for a job to refill and refactor. By this time Sabretech had been bought by Jon Hoyt and Brad Cochran, who were then looking for someone just like Dan—or Dan himself. Delighted to join back up with a now-thriving Sabretech, Dan has been putting together custom solutions for any problem that’s willing to pay for itself! Besides that, he has big plans for the world!
Programming feats Dan’s done include: various content management systems for websites, numerous data conversions, and a website that reads temperature gauges and notifies workers of alarming highs and lows. He even contributed to a project that allowed soccer fans in an international game to upload pictures from their cell phones and get a chance to see them on the big screen! A side goal of his is to create a website that everyone in the U.S. will eventually use on a regular basis.
Dan also loves soccer, road biking, ultimate frisbee, singing, serving and getting to know people.
